Lautaro Martinez feels that Inter Milan’s Serie A title triumph against AC Milan will be a moment that lives on in the memory.

The 26-year-old Nerazzurri captain reflected on last Monday’s derby win in the official matchday programme for this evening’s Serie A clash with Torino.

Martinez is Serie A champion for the second time. And for the first time as Inter captain.

The Argentine skippered Inter to the title, and in fairly dominant fashion this season.

The Nerazzurri clinched the title with five matches to go last week.

A 2-1 victory in the derby against city rivals Milan was enough to make mathematically certain that Inter would finish the season as champions of the Italian top flight.

Lautaro Martinez: Inter Serie A Title Triumph “Unforgettable”

Inter captain Martinez reflected that “Ever since I was a child I’ve faced every challenge with the aim of growing up.”

“I left home when I was fifteen or sixteen years old. I was chasing my dream step by step, and I’ve achieved many of the goals I’ve always wanted to.”

“Every step of the way, every first has been precious,” Martinez said.

The Argentine noted “My first goal for Racing. My first for the national. My first for Inter.”

“Ever since I arrived in Milan, I’ve found people who love me, and who have helped me.”

“And fans who have supported us everywhere, always with the same intensity,” the Inter captain added.

Meanwhile, Martinez gave his thoughts on the date of April 22nd, in which Inter clinched the Serie A title against city rivals Milan.

Neither the Nerazzurri nor the Rossoneri had ever clinched the title in the derby previously.

Martinez beamed that this was “An unforgettable day that we earned.”

“Because of the hard work of this incredible group, and the magnificent support from our fans.”
