Celtics acquire Jaden Springer from Sixers
Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia 76ers are trading guard Jaden Springer to the Boston Celtics in exchange for a second-round pick, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

According to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Sixers will receive a 2024 second-rounder, via either the Chicago Bulls or New York Knicks, whichever is more favorable.

Springer, 21, has appeared in just 18 games in his first two NBA seasons, but has played 32 this year. He’s averaging 4.0 points in 12 minutes a night. He is making $2.2 million this season and is guaranteed $4 million next.

Springer will go into the $6.2M Grant Williams Trade Exception,” wrote Bobby Marks of ESPN. “The exception was set to be frozen starting on April 15. Joel Embiid is the only player on the 76ers roster with a guaranteed contract in 2024-25.”
